Snowbird Jr. Freeskiing
9 MaySorry for not posting in a long time. A really, really long time. Been slackin for sure.
First up since the last time I posted was the Snowbird Jr. Freesking comp. MSI finally decide to step it up for the juniors and let us compete on the adult venues. The competition was stacked; kids from all across the US and even France showed up to give it their best.
Day one was socked in and snowing. Everyone threw down great runs and made it clear they weren’t scared of flat light. I sent a decent cliff at the bottom and was sitting in 2nd place going into the final day!
Day two graced us with some fresh pow and super good landings. Everyone was sending it! I skied my line stomping my upper cliffs and sent a nice backflip at the bottom. Ended up taking first place!
Eventually I’ll post some headcam footy from the comp so check back some other time. For now check out this highlight vid…
Chad’s Gap
1 MarSpent the past couple days building legendary Chad’s Gap up Grizzley Gultch! Dunno if I’m going to be hitting it yet, All depends on how the other guys do.

16 DecAs I sit at home with a bum leg I decided to start putting out a webisode series. So I sent my good friend Sam Cohen off with the new HD GoPro and told him to get some cool shots. I’m going to create a new episode at least every other week. My goal is to capture what it is like to be a local skier up Little Cottonwood Canyon and what our view of skiing is. Enjoy!

The start of winter…
11 DecOnce again I have been slackin on the posts… sorry.
I know most of you reading this right now are desperate competitors on the freeski tour trying to get a spot in the comps. This is what I know; out of the Greener trio I am pretty positive Nick and Rick Greener have both won on the tour before and rob hasn’t. I won the North Face Young Gun award at Crested Butte but not at Snowbird. I have no idea who won it at Snowbird. That is all I know so hopefully that helps!
Other than tour registration nothing amazing has happened here in Utah lately. There is a very small snowpack and only a couple runs are open. I have been skiing almost every day and been having a lot of fun even though there is little snow. I have been borrowing one of the new HD GoPro from Alta and unfortunately on my second run using it I almost broke my leg. Luckly the x rays didn’t show any signs of cracks or fractures so I’ll be good to go in a week or two. Check out the footage from what i did get…
Also I have basically been raised in the Albion Grill my whole life and have ate hundreds of dollars worth of their food for free so my mom is making me put the Grill down as one of my sponsors so go get a burger from the Abion Grill next time your in Alta!

It’s almost winter!!
18 NovSo it’s been a while since the last time I posted and a lot has happened. It has started to snow more frequently around the Wasatch and the mountains are maintaining a fresh sheet of snow. I have found my self hiking for preseason turns with my friends numerous times and it just keeps getting better. The last time I went out it was thigh deep pow at the top of Collins chair in Alta!

Other than skiing I have been training with the Snowbird Freeride Team at Black Diamond Gymnastics. It is a super fun time and will hopefully do good things for this winter. Check out the edit that Nate Cahoon made…
I also did a little photo shoot with Mike Schirf, Taylor Lyman, and John Collinson. We got some pretty rad shots and check back for some more in the future.
